Gunite Pools

Indoor swimming pool with seating and accessibility features.

Investing in a custom gunite pool is about transforming your backyard into a permanent oasis. Offering unmatched durability and style, lasting for decades. A gunite pool provides unlimited design flexibility. Whether you envision a sleek and modern rectangle or a naturalistic freeform shape with an infinity edge, the structural strength of concrete ensures your dream becomes a functional reality. It is the ultimate home upgrade that can increase your property value. Creating a private resort experience that will be the focal point of family memories for years to come.

Fiberglass Pools

A clean backyard pool with brick surroundings and patio furniture.

Since 1958 San Juan has grown from a small Washington based company to a well governed nationwide organization with numerous manufacturing plants throughout the United States. They carry a wide range of shapes, sizes, and colors, San Juan Pools offers something for every taste and backyard layout.

Gunite

The process begins with precise excavation and a steel rebar framework that forms the backbone of the pool. High-pressure hoses then spray a dense mixture of cement, sand, and water (gunite) onto the rebar, creating a strong, seamless structural shell. This shotcrete method allows for virtually any shape, depth, or custom feature— from vanishing edges and beach entries to intricate curves and benches. After the gunite cures, our pool crew will apply a beautiful interior finish (plaster, pebble, or tile), followed by plumbing, equipment, and water features. The result is a rock-solid, long-lasting pool that's ready to deliver decades of enjoyment with minimal maintenance.

Fiberglass

The first step to fiberglass pools is prepping the site for installation. This process involves excavating the area where the pool will be placed. Once the site is ready, the pool shell will be carefully transported and delivered. The pool shell will then be gently lowered into the excavation site, by crane. Plumbing, electrical and landscape can be worked on as soon as the pool is in place. Typically, the time from start to finish is pretty quick. The fast installation allows you more time to relax and enjoy your new pool.

Each San Juan pool includes:

  • *Five or more individually hand-laid fiberglass layers
  • *Two 16-mil gel coat layers for unmatched protection (32-mil total — the thickest in the industry)
  • *Woven roving reinforcement for superior vertical and horizontal strength
  • *Vinyl ester resin used throughout the shell, not just on the topcoat
